What's your business, and who are your customers?
I am one of the co-owners of Jump Ahead Pediatrics. We provide speech therapy, occupational therapy, and physical therapy to children of all ages and abilities.
Tell us about yourself
I have been an occupational therapist for over a decade. My business partner, Janki Patel, and I decided to open Jump Ahead Pediatrics about six years ago in order to provide affordable, effective, and fun services for children. We continue to be motivated to provide the best services possible to children all over the state of New Jersey.
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
My biggest accomplishment as a business owner is where I am at this very moment. I would have never thought that six years in, I would be able to be at home to raise my own children while also being able to manage a successful business and simultaneously being able to help patients/children achieve their goals.
What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?
One of the most difficult things that come with being a business owner is having to lean on me to make big decisions (both good and bad) that can affect myself, my business partner, my family, my employees, my patients, my colleagues, etc. I am extremely lucky to have Janki as an amazing business partner and friend to assist in those big decisions.
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
The top 3 tips I would give anyone looking to start and grow a business today are:
- To be resourceful.
- Do what you love, and just go for it!
- You never know where your "crazy ideas" will take you!
