Interested in starting your own entrepreneurial journey in health and wellness but unsure what to expect? Then read up on our interview with Li Si Yang, Founder of Journey to Fitness, located in Honolulu, HI, USA.

What's your business, and who are your customers?

I am a posture and pain coach specializing in body renovation and transformation. My customers are mostly people between the age of 50-75 who feels like their body is breaking down and experiencing chronic aches, pains, muscle weakness, and balance issues.

Tell us about yourself

I started out as a personal trainer but noticed a huge percentage of people I train have chronic aches, pain, muscle tightness, joint stiffness, poor posture, poor movement pattern, poor body awareness, and lots of muscle imbalance and compensation. What motivates me every day is that there is still so much to learn about our body, mind, and emotion. After 20 years on my journey, I have discovered a simple way to explain and help people fix and heal their own bodies through multiple methods that I have learned and tweeted over the years from working on myself and on my clients.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

My biggest accomplishment is the instant and long-term results I am able to give my clients and that they have the knowledge and peace of mind to help and heal themselves.

What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?

One of the hardest things that comes with being a business owner and in life is owning 100% responsibility for my action and results. That is the only way to move forward, grow and be successful.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

  1. You must LOVE what you do and have the PASSION and CURIOSITY to enjoy the journey and challenges.
  2. You must always put yourself in your customers' or clients' shoes.
  3. You must learn to wear different hats at any given time.

Is there anything else you'd like to share?

  1. Always take care of yourself first. Have your own life in order, and everything else will fall into place.
  2. Life and business are like the stock market. It's never a straight line. There will always be ups and downs, but if you are persistent, patient, and consistent, you will do very well!
