What's your business, and who are your customers?
I am a chiropractor specializing in Nimmo receptor Tonus Trigger Point Therapy, which is extremely effective at diagnosing and treating all types of acute and chronic musculoskeletal pain.
Tell us about yourself
My grandfather was an obstetrician/ gynecologist, my father was a chiropractor who was taught by Dr. Nimmo, and my father taught me. From seeing my family serve others, I have always wanted to be in health care and to be able to help others. I enjoy helping to reduce pain and seeing someone be able to do something that they weren't able to do before, like golfing, skiing, gardening, picking up grandchildren, etc.
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
Getting through COVID and the pandemic. My father started my practice in 1976, and my wife and I have been able to keep it going continuously since then.
What's one of the hardest things that comes with being a business owner?
How to keep the business going. How to stay in the public eye. How to keep my business in the minds of others. How to promote my business without coming off badly. How to keep attracting new patients and new clients. How to stay on top of the ever-growing body of information pertinent to health care and to my profession.
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
- Keep expenses low.
- Start now.
- Buy a building for your business if possible.
