Interested in starting your own entrepreneurial journey in personal development but unsure what to expect? Then read up on our interview with John Latta, CEO of John David Latta, LLC, located in Redmond, WA, USA.

What's your business, and who are your customers?

I am an author and spiritual teacher. I share intimate and personal stories and teach workshops on leadership, healing, transformation, awakening, love, synchronicity, and wisdom that unite and expand the human experience. My customers come from all walks of life, and I try to bring a grounded, practical awareness and years of hands-on actual, lived life experience to my workshops and one on one sessions. I am equally comfortable with helping folks with both deep and wondrous spiritual realization and transformation and with the day-to-day practical realities and challenges of life. All my workshops and one on one sessions begin with foundational self-love and appreciation for the unique being that each of us is.

Tell us about yourself

I am the former founder and CEO of a multimillion-dollar consumer products company. I recently sold my company, and now I write and teach in ways that I never could when running my prior company. I enjoy the freedom it affords and enjoy meeting others where they are and seeing how I can assist them to get to where they want to go. I found that my motivation to be the CEO of a large company was waning, so I made the conscious choice to transition from CEO of a large company to more of a guide/mentor/teacher and author. I am motivated by sharing new insights, new perspectives, and new discoveries that I hope others find helpful.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

Writing and publishing my first book, The Synchronicity of Love: Stories that Heal, Transform and Awaken. And since then, I've been on a podcast book marketing tour and have appeared as a guest on over 50 podcasts worldwide in the last six months.

What's one of the hardest things that comes with being a business owner?

The great thing about being a business owner is that you are your own boss. The hard thing about being a business owner is that you are responsible for everything! LOL!

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

  1. Make sure you have a powerful desire (a "fire in the belly") to start and sustain running your business through good times and bad.
  2. Never stop learning and growing. The world is always changing, and a successful business is always changing and evolving as well.
  3. Do your homework and research your business but don't neglect your gut feeling and intuition as well. Head, heart, and gut can all work together!
