What's your business, and who are your customers?
Our business provides pet care in the comfort of their home. When people have long work days, work trips, or that well-needed getaway. We offer dog walks, pet sitting, and overnight stays with the pets in their environment to keep them exercised and as relaxed as possible.
Tell us about yourself
I knew the feeling of having to leave my dogs at home for long periods and knew they needed to get some extra exercise. They always got a walk in the morning and night, but they really needed a broken middle of the day to help work some anxiousness. Especially on the days I had to work 10+ hours and could not make it home at a good time. Every day I know I am taking stress off someone's busy day or allowing the comfort of knowing while gone on a work trip or vacation, their pet is home and happy.
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
The fact I have been able to provide consistent work for our sitters and give them a great work environment. They enjoy being able to get outdoors, stay active, love of furr babies and make a good wage in this economy.
What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?
You don't get very much time to yourself if you are all in with the pet industry because you work 365 days a year. That means working on all holidays, birthdays, family gatherings, sick or tired. When you have people relying on you to show up and do as you promised for their furr babies, there is 0 room for excuses.
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
- Find something you are passionate about that has a problem and create the solution.
- Don't be afraid to hear the word no.
- You have to make mistakes to grow, so don't beat yourself up when you do.
