At Joelle Academy, we offer CV writing services, cover letter writing, LinkedIn Profile optimization, interview preparation, and English Lessons for IELTS and business.
Tell us about yourself
I have noticed how much the Arab world lacks in knowledge when it comes to CV writing and applying for jobs, so I decided to make short videos that contain tips about interviews and what to include in a resume and post them on TikTok, and I quickly got viral leading to people asking me for my services and opening Joelle Academy.
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
I am proud to have written up to 2000 resumes for people in the Arab World, mostly Saudi Arabia, UAE, and Lebanon, leading to interviews and full-time jobs.
What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?
I think it is consistency and business continuity. Being able to put in the same effort every day can certainly be a chore, especially since my sales come mainly from content on TikTok and Instagram.
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
- You have to start, don't think, just start! Sometimes too much planning and thinking can make you back away from your taking the first step.
- Pick something that you really enjoy, or else you will be dreading the minute you have started your business, don't go with what is trending.
- Adaptability. If what you are doing is not working, change the plan! I know some people say the key to success is consistency, but what if you are consistent with something that isn't working? It will not always work! So keep changing strategies until you find a formula that works.
