Sunbelt of Naples, Ft. Myers, Sarasota, and Miami is a professional Mergers and Acquisition firm with 7 Business Brokers who work with the owners of middle market and main street businesses in Florida and other states.
Tell us about yourself
After selling my highly successful fitness eCommerce business to private equity in 2006, I realized that I enjoyed doing transactions more than running a company. It is very energizing to meet new entrepreneurs every day, each with their own unique stories of hard work and perseverance.
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
You might think it would be getting high up on the on the inc. 5000 or Internet Retailer Top 100 lists, but I actually believe helping entrepreneurial families exit their businesses with a pocket full of money and lifetime security.
What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?
The stress of being responsible for employees and their families through the good times and bad. It's never easy, and if you don't lose sleep over it, you are the lucky one.
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
Take the time to plan things out in advance, and be sure you are conservative about your projections. It often takes more time to achieve profitability, and you need to be in it for the long haul with all the support and capital you need.
