Interested in starting your own entrepreneurial journey in health and wellness but unsure what to expect? Then read up on our interview with Joshua Hull, Fouder of JH | Nutrition, located in Antigua, Antigua and Barbuda.

What's your business, and who are your customers?

JH | Nutrition is a nutrition coaching business for men in the finance industry. The finance industry is one of a kind, and many guys neglect their health due to the demanding nature of the business. Although that is the "culture," I want that to change. The ones who are out there managing the world's money also need to be healthy.

Tell us about yourself

What wakes me up in the morning? It's my pursuit to change the world. It may sound naive or too ambitious, but it's what I want to do after suffering from a major panic attack at 17, on my way to a soccer match, trying hard to revive my career as an athlete. I was left with nothing. Soccer wasn't going to happen; I had completely lost myself. That's when I found dieting after a year of self-discovery. I went on a mission to solve my anxiety, depression, and low energy. It's something many men silently struggle with, and no one ever knows. By eating well and taking care of my body, I solved the majority of my mental struggles, and to put it simply; I'm thriving now. In 2020 I decided to embark on the journey to help others do the same since I enjoy and am studying finance; I figured, "why not help guys like myself in the industry I love so much?". So here I am!

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

I wouldn't say that I've had a major 6-figure or 5-figure breakthrough. My biggest accomplishment is seeing others change because of the content I make and the guys I help see results that they're even impressed with. They feel good about themselves and can say working with me was worth it. So far, I'm very proud of that and will continue pushing to help more guys feel the same.

What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?

It's a lonely journey sometimes. Not many people understand why I do what I do or why I have so much passion for it. Not to mention, there's no one telling you what's wrong or right. It's figuring it out for yourself until you've got it. Lots more failures than successes, and that can be frustrating at times, especially when you want to make such a big impact! I'm sure, so many other business owners relate!

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

  1. Just start! You'll figure it out as you go!
  2. Chase failure; success is the byproduct of failure. The more mistakes, the better.
  3. Networking is THE best tool I'm using to help my business grow. Network with the right people, and build a supportive group!

Is there anything else you'd like to share?

My favorite snacks are the KIND Dark Chocolate & Nut bar and Kettle chips. + I'm predominantly on LinkedIn!
