Interested in starting your own entrepreneurial journey in business development but unsure what to expect? Then read up on our interview with Jennifer Guity, Founder of JG Signature Services, located in New York, NY, USA.

What's your business, and who are your customers?

I am the founder of JG Signature Services LLC, an online business management and consulting firm where we serve service providers, from solopreneurs to small business owners, who manage their operations and achieve their business goals.

Tell us about yourself

I used to dream of finding a job that would provide me with the perfect balance between work and life, financial freedom, unlimited PTO, and opportunities for personal and professional growth. However, it wasn't until I left my job at a regional hospital because of the Covid vaccine mandate that I finally took the leap of faith to turn my dreams into a reality. After spending a decade building my career in healthcare, I was ready for a change - I wanted to live life on my own terms and find fulfillment in my work. So, I decided to utilize the courses I had invested in over the past year and start my own virtual assistance business. I've always had a passion for helping others, and this pivotal moment allowed me to provide entrepreneurs with the same sense of freedom and flexibility that I had been striving for. And that's how JG Signature Services came to be - through a desire to serve and empower others on their own paths to success.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

Surviving the first year of entrepreneurship and staying the course is by far the biggest accomplishment as a business owner. It takes hard work, dedication, and resiliency to get through the ups and downs of entrepreneurship.

What's one of the hardest things that comes with being a business owner?

Entrepreneurship can force you to confront different aspects of yourself that you may not be ready to address or work through. The emotional and mental challenges that come with it can be uncomfortable and challenging but rest assured, it can also be empowering as you gain a deeper understanding of yourself.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

  1. Don't be afraid to invest in yourself and your business.
  2. Set boundaries to maintain your mental health and prevent burnout.
  3. Network and surround yourself with like-minded individuals and other supportive business owners.
