What's your business, and who are your customers?
Best-selling author, multi-media contributor, and owner/founder of the Women's Wealth Boutique. Our clientele includes female financial advisors, female investors, and women nearing retirement.
Tell us about yourself
I started out in the financial industry in 2010, joining an all-male financial firm, and quickly realized how isolating the industry is for women. I decided to stand up and make a change for female advisors, female clients, and female investors to make the industry more approachable, more fun, and more engaging.
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
Owning the fastest growing woman-owned financial firm in the US, three best-selling books, launching a multi-media firm, #pinkfix productions publishing books, podcasts, courses, events, and magazines.
What's one of the hardest things that comes with being a business owner?
Releasing control as you build out your staff and empowering them to find their voice, take responsibility, and harnessing their genius! The constant switching of tasks, moving from creative to operations, can be exhausting.
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
- Track your income, expenses, debt, and assets on a monthly basis. Know and understand the flow of your money!
- Hire a business coach; when I work with a coach, my income goes up 80-90% a year; when I don't, it goes up 10-20%.
- Be unapologetically you! Don't be who you think your audience wants you to be or what the industry tells you to be, but accept your flaws and all!
