Interested in starting your own entrepreneurial journey in health and wellness but unsure what to expect? Then read up on our interview with Jennifer Perigord, Founder of Holistic Family Occupational Therapy LLC, located in Lake Worth, FL, USA.
What's your business, and who are your customers?
My business is Holistic Family Occupational Therapy LLC. I am a holistic occupational therapist specializing in primary reflex integration and negative emotional energy release for the whole family. I help people of all ages, from newborns to seniors.
Tell us about yourself
I worked for many, many years as a medically based occupational therapist, primarily working with children and infants. As much as I loved what I did, I was mentally, emotionally, and physically burnt out with the productivity expectations, time constraints, and restrictions. I decided to take the leap into private practice during the pandemic. My heart's mission has always been to help children and infants naturally develop into their best selves. However, recently my services have expanded to adolescents and adults suffering from anxiety and/or chronic stress. This has been very rewarding helping people on this level who have been mentally and emotionally struggling for a long time to start to find peace and hope.
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
I have been recently invited to join the Integrated Natural Health Center practice. This is a heart-centered practice with gifted practitioners providing naturopathy and cranial-sacral services. Being a part of this team is special to me because these practitioners were integral in helping my own family when we were in need.
What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?
Finding the balance of growing my business while still being present with my family. I love helping people, so I tend to be extra flexible with accommodating my personal schedule for my clients. It is a struggle to set healthy boundaries between my business and family life.
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
I am not business savvy and still have much to learn. But the things that have helped me along the way have been.
- Following my intuition.
- Being genuine.
- Making my services stand out amongst the others.
