What's your business, and who are your customers?
I build custom websites for authors and small business owners. I work with small independent authors looking to build a platform for their readers and fans. Also, I work with many smaller companies building their business platforms.
Tell us about yourself
I started out in college, getting my degree and majoring in creative writing. I took a fill-in class to round out my term, took a web design course, and fell in love. And I went from there, changing my major to web design and development.
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
I created a website for a small town in my state after they had a fire that destroyed most of their town. And then, I created a large site for a big non-profit in my area also. But my biggest reward and accomplishment is building websites for small authors that helped put them on the map with their books but also generated them additional income from selling merchandise from their online shop on their website.
What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?
The hardest thing with being a business owner is promoting yourself because that self-doubt comes in, and the balance between always self-promoting and boasting about your skills and bragging.
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
- Stop doubting yourself.
- Brag about your accomplishments.
- Don't undervalue your skills - stop giving things away for free.

I love working with women that want to build a site to showcase their skills and accomplishments that will move them forward in their career and business goals. Whether as an author or small business owner.
