Interested in starting your own entrepreneurial journey in coaching but unsure what to expect? Then read up on our interview with Jamie Carroll, Founder of Jay Lynn Coaching, located in Nashville, TN, USA.

What's your business, and who are your customers?

I work as an Integrative Wellness & Divine Soul Coach, educating, inspiring, and empowering men and women to reclaim the joy and happiness that is innately theirs to claim. My goal with my work is to get people to understand that the power and motivation they seek outside of themselves lies within. Ultimately, they know what is best for themselves and when we can get to a space of silencing the mind, getting into the body, and learning to balance the two, we can shift our reality and our world. It all starts within.

I use modalities such as Functional Medicine Health Coaching, Reiki and Chakra Balancing, Life Path Astrology, Embodiment Practices, and Akashic Records as a way for people to begin to get to reconnect with their divine knowing and soul on a deeper level.

Tell us about yourself

I've been educating myself in mind, body, and spiritual health for the past 14 years. I've struggled with misdiagnoses which led me to functional medicine as well as addiction, anxiety, and depression, which led me to a journey of my own understanding and innate wisdom. It is my passion and purpose to share what I have learned with others and inspire them to listen to their own intuition regarding their healing process. That is something that has been stripped from us through certain processes in this world that we live in.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

My biggest accomplishment for myself is walking my talk and leading with integrity. It's not always easy, but this is the most rewarding piece of what I do for myself and others. Not everyone will see or fully understand this. I know this journey can sometimes feel isolating, but it doesn't have to be a lonely process.

What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?

The hardest lesson I learned throughout this business was that nobody "needed" me. When I fully understood and accepted this, I could focus on the techniques that would truly help people reconnect with themselves. Each person is unique, so these techniques can look vastly different. Once I grasped this concept, everything shifted for me, and people began to step more fully into their space as already perfect, whole BEings.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

  1. Get to know your kismet clients! One of my coaches (Angel Quintana with Sacred Anarchy) coined this term many years ago, and we use astrology to determine who your clients are! It should come as no surprise that your clients are your mirror.
  2. Live with integrity. I think this speaks for itself.
  3. Set aside time for rest and self-care. As business owners, it can be easy to feel like we have to run to someone or something else if there is a problem. This can hinder our growth (both personally and professionally) in the long run. Set time out for yourself. This will be key to your success. Force nothing and BE.
