What's your business, and who are your customers?

WLC is a translation and interpreting services company. Our customers are Fortune 500, Fortune 50, city, state, and federal agencies, private companies, as well as law firms and clinics.

Tell us about yourself

I was a translator and interpreter of Spanish and Portuguese for many years for documents and events, conferences and meetings across many industries. I was also a Title III Wire Tap interpreter for the DOJ, DOJ, and DHS. I'm motivated by my love of language and culture. I'm a global citizen, so I thrive on meeting new people from all kinds of backgrounds and experiences.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

I have built a company over the past 12 years that has grown into a leading provider of translation services and recently secured our biggest contract to date with the federal government, which has since led to more federal contracts.

What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?

Balancing personalities and collecting payments.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

  1. Make sure you are exceptionally well organized and disciplined in your organizational methods.
  2. Be persistent and patient. Some of your great accomplishments will come years after you expect them to happen, but they will come only from all the work you have put in.
