Interested in starting your own entrepreneurial journey in content creation but unsure what to expect? Then read up on our interview with Jason Cabassi, Founder of Podcastica, located in San Francisco, CA, USA.

What's your business, and who are your customers?

I run a podcast network, Podcastica. We do fun, in-depth, episode-by-episode discussions about great TV shows. We're all about engaging with our listeners, who are fans of these shows. We make money through ads and crowd-funding.

Tell us about yourself

I started podcasting about AMC's The Walking Dead in 2010 as a hobby. It was so much fun I eventually decided to make it my career. Twelve years later, I still love podcasting. For me, it's all about appreciation, exploration, connection, and laughter.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

My biggest accomplishment is fostering this die-hard community that generally likes and respects each other and goes out of its way to support each other.

What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?

The hardest thing about being a business owner, for me, is figuring out how to make enough money to sustain and grow the business.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

  1. Find something you feel driven to do.
  2. Work with people who are equally driven to do it.
  3. Always keep your eyes open for new opportunities and ways to adapt.
