Tell us about yourself

When I got into entrepreneurship, I had no idea it was a path that existed. I had no one in my life, close or distant, who I personally knew with a business. When I realized the freedom it would bring me – financially and emotionally – I decided to go for it! Plus, it meant I got to be a stay-at-home dog mom, which is totally a dream come true! Learning and growth motivate me! It might be a bit on the nose, but I love learning. Entrepreneurship is like growth on steroids. You always need to be working on yourself, your team, and the business to reach more people.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

It’s such an achievement to help experts on their path to becoming household names with products that generate passive income. Because of the info products, they have the opportunity to travel more, speak more, write more, and just reach new larger audiences.

And I’m incredibly proud of the team we’ve built. We’re a group of women on a mission to create an impact in the online education space. Even though we’re “behind the screen,” we take a lot of pride in supporting learners from around the globe across so many different niches.

What's one of the hardest things that comes with being a business owner?

Saying “No”! When I was just getting started, it was easy to say “Yes,” because I had more time. As the business grows, I seem to have less and less time for the things that are actually important, so saying “No” becomes crucial. Even something as simple as an in-person event becomes a big decision. Those 3 or 4 hours are precious. I trust a day will soon come when it’s easier with my more practice prioritization muscle, but for now, it’s a challenge!

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

  1. Give first. I most value relationships in business. Nothing beats a solid relationship - someone who can solve your problem in a snap. But remember, that means you have to be willing and even excited to solve their problem first! And don’t discredit people. You never know who someone is and what they’ve been through… and the value they can add to your life because of it.
  2. Do what you say you’ll do. This is so simple. And it’s the number one reason why our referral rate is so stellar. When we say we’ll do something, we do it. And if we have a deadline, we complete it by the deadline. In every business, but especially if you’re a service provider, this is a must!
  3. Make it easy to celebrate! Celebrate the small wins (and the big wins) but especially the small wins. This includes your inputs, not just the outputs. Did you hit your engagement goal today by connecting with five people? Celebrate that! Don’t wait until you “get the client” to celebrate. Celebrating the work that you put in along the way (the input) is a hack to get to the result (the output) faster.
