What's your business, and who are your customers?
Eclectic Reikiology is in the business of helping people along their spiritual journey. Our mission is to help them improve mentally, emotionally, spiritually, and physically. Our customers are people who know the value of investing in themselves so that they can grow in all areas of life.
Tell us about yourself
I was in limbo after closing my Private Investigations business. I dabbled in photography and started a blog. After a while, though, my soul was longing for something more meaningful. It was divine intervention that led me down the path I'm on now, at a time when I was asking for a sign. You can read more about my transition from P. What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
My biggest accomplishment as a business owner is being here every day and having the tenacity and perseverance to keep going, even when times get tough. It is so rewarding when that one client walks in, and you know that you can help them. That's really what it's all about. It's an exchange of energy, and knowing that the customer or client trusts us is everything.
What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?
One of the hardest things about being a business owner is being consistent on social media and marketing the proper way. Also, unless you have good dependable people working with you, it's hard to take a day off. The business doesn't run by itself, so basically, you're always in work mode. It's hard when you want to spend time with your spouse and can't because you've got a business to run.
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
Make sure that you know which business licenses you need to run your business. Here in Las Vegas, a State License is required before you can get your business license for the jurisdiction you're doing business in. (city, county, etc.) Also, some licenses are general, and some are privileged. Do your research, so you don't get into trouble down the road.
Most people who start a business are really good at what they do; however, that doesn't make them a good business person. It's important to know all the nuances of what it takes to run a business and what your monthly expenses will be. There are costs that people don't think about, such as internet and website hosting, the cost for word perfect, canva, liability insurance, sales tax, gas, electric and water, rent, subscriptions, etc. Make sure you know before getting into something you can't handle.
Be consistent, show up, and come from a place of service in your heart. And always have good and positive people working with you if you decide to expand. Attitude goes a long way.
