What's your business, and who are your customers?

My business consists of 4 brick and mortar stores and an online store.  We sell only one product...socks... and are experts on the subject.  I only carry top-quality socks and brands that will last.

Tell us about yourself

I started this company as a "keep busy" project and it just grew.  I started with a small loan which I paid back within 5 months and then just grew the company.  My customers are what motivate me.  My team members also keep me happy as we work as a team and all have a love of socks.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

My biggest accomplishment as a business owner is being a success in my 50s.  I tried something for the fun and it turned into a much larger business than I had ever thought.

What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?

The hardest part about being an owner is the number of hours you have to put into the business.  It's also hard to delegate and let some of the tasks be done by others.  To give up part of the control.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

Anyone who wants to start a business has to have a passion for the product or services.  A lot of your time is spent developing a product and having a love for it makes it all worthwhile.
