What's your business, and who are your customers?

My business is all about helping women entrepreneurs and leaders to become fearlessly confident, amplify their voice and message, and make a powerful impact in the world. I believe many women have a wellspring of untapped treasure inside that needs to be released. I help them uncover that treasure by shedding the impostor stories that hold them back and to embrace their true greatness. I do this through private coaching, group programs, online courses & workshops, my podcast, speaking, and my books.

Tell us about yourself

I started my business at the age of 61 after going through what I call my "waking up phase" in my fifties. I realized how fast time was going by and knew that if I was going to fulfill my purpose and make my mark in the world, I needed to act now! That journey led me to discover coaching, which energized me like nothing else. I finally knew what I wanted to do when I grew up! My passion for empowering women is fueled by my own traumatized past and the subsequent 30 years of playing small, diminishing my gifts, and having very low confidence. Once I finally dealt with the past and unpacked it all, I began to "emerge fearlessly" and found my confidence growing. I was speaking up, showing up, and standing up in my life, and it felt amazing. I want to see all women take center stage in their lives as the star of their own story (which is why my book is titled as it is). The world will be a much better place when women are fully present in themselves, not holding back, and not worried about what other people think of them!

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

The fact that I've been able to speak into the lives of many women and help them become who they were meant to be. And finally, releasing my new book has to be at the top of the list!

What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?

Believe in yourself and your mission when it looks like nothing is working.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

  1. Be persistent in pursuing your goals. Let obstacles become your stepping stones to something greater.
  2. Stay focused on where you want to go and watch the negative self-talk. Be your own best cheerleader and celebrate every win, every small step, and every accomplishment. Failure is just feedback to help you learn and grow.
  3. Know your "why." This will keep you motivated. You must know without a doubt that what you offer is valuable needed and that your people are looking for you.

Is there anything else you'd like to share?

Many women struggle with impostor syndrome, and I want them to know that they can overcome it. The impostor stories that rumble around in your head are just stories you've decided are true, so they hold you back. But they are not true. Uproot them and challenge them. Then find the evidence that reveals your true self. Find your truth and speak it over yourself. Confidence is your superpower. Grow it from the inside out by knowing your strengths, talents, unique qualities, and passions. Own your accomplishments, believe in your abilities and trust your inner wisdom. You DO have what it takes. Your opinion of yourself is the only one that matters. Confidence will attract success, opportunities, clients, money, and satisfaction in your life. You can create your own confidence.
