What's your business, and who are your customers?

Tell us about yourself

After spending 20 years in Corporate America and loving every minute of it, I found my gift was helping others in growing their leadership skills and selling skills. I was able to use my gifts to entertain and teach large groups and have an impact on those I worked with over the years.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

I was able to grow my speaking business over the past 17 years and publish five books. The impact I have on my clients continues to be my greatest sense of accomplishment.

What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?

Working for free for several years. Not giving up no matter the obstacle. Even though I have owned several small businesses over the years, the willingness to keep driving remains the greatest obstacle and the greatest reward.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

  1. Make sure you do something you love. Because otherwise, you will give up when it gets too hard.
  2. Be willing to go "all in." Don't fear losing or failing because most likely. You will several times before you succeed.
  3. Be ready to work 24 hours and keep reinvesting in your business.
