What's your business, and who are your customers?
Modern Blush started out as just an idea. But it turned into the most amazing thing that could have ever happened to me. Making people feel better about themselves even with just a little change. Lash extensions give you that small change after a short lash nap; you wake up with the most gorgeous eyelashes.
Tell us about yourself
I knew from the minute I got my own job that working a regular 9-5 job was not for me. Having to put in a request for days off and waiting around hoping I’d get it was the worst. So I always knew I wanted my own business to get out of that environment and take charge of my own life and be free. Starting my own business helped me do that and so much more. Waking up every day and actually being excited to work and being so happy to talk to your clients is what I love the most.
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
My biggest accomplishment as a business owner is actually doing it and putting the work in to get to where I am. I started so young, only at the age of 20, and now I’m barely 22, and my business has only gone up from here. I knew this was exactly what I wanted, and I’m not stopping anytime soon; there is only more to come.
What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?
The hardest thing about being a business owner is taking breaks sometimes. You get so caught up and invested that sometimes you do need a break yourself, even if it’s just a few days in the mountains or a small little beach trip getaway. You need time to turn your brain off and come back with even greater ideas as a business owner; you are always thinking about ways to improve your services or business that your brain can just keep going 24/7.
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
My top 3 tips I will give to people who want to start their own business in any field would be too. Number one Invest in your business and do all the research you can with social media; nowadays, it’s evolving, and there are so many free posts or podcasts on how to take your business to the next level and grow. Other people have made the mistakes, so you don’t have to. Number 2, create a business plan, write your goals down every day, and what you want to achieve in a certain period of time. If that is making a certain amount of money, paying your debt off, or taking a certain amount of clients a week or day. Number three, everything takes time. You not gonna be in the same place as someone else in one year when it took them three years. Don’t compare yourself to other businesses. Everyone has their own path for their own reason.
