Interested in starting your own entrepreneurial journey in health and wellness but unsure what to expect? Then read up on our interview with Jackie Solimini, founder of Superformance Wellness Counseling, located in Northford, CT, USA.
What's your business, and who are your customers?
Superformance Wellness Counseling is a holistic wellness practice focusing on emotional wellness, recovery from chemical addictions, physical fitness, and improved nutrition. I create realistic plans and programs that work. Clients drop the excess weight, eat better, feel better, and remain in recovery. The drive to change comes from within, not from the latest self-improvement fad. When we take charge of what and who we are and what changes, we want to make spectacular things happen. It starts with mindset. My client is the driver, and I'm the guide on their journey.
Tell us about yourself
When the COVID pandemic arrived in the U.S, I was aware early on that mental health issues, and chemical addictions would skyrocket-as did countless other health concerns. I wanted to help people develop healthier and more resilient lifestyles. The first line of order involved tackling emotional health issues, followed by dietary changes as people were experiencing weight gain secondary to the lockdown. Helping people become healthier and happier is a powerful motivating force.
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
I'm so proud when clients attain goals they never thought possible. I worked with a person recovering from a CVA. Significant improvements in gait and range of motion were achieved following several weeks of specialized exercise routines. Later on, in 2021, I was awarded an education grant leading to a professional credential allowing me to counsel people in recovery.
What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?
Time allotment to access new clients and business supporters.
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
Never throw in the towel. Know that every personal trial has an ending. For anyone working in the health sciences-educate and inspire with character and integrity.
Is there anything else you'd like to share?
I'm happy to be here sharing my path to business ownership!
