What's your business, and who are your customers?
We manufacture dog and cat food, treats, and food toppers. Our customers are pet lovers who value great nutrition with natural superfood ingredients. Our focus is on the health and wellness of the pet to prevent issues that can arise as the pet gets older. Issues like mobility and joint function, digestion, and many others. We sell through wholesalers, pet retailers, and direct to the consumer.
Tell us about yourself
I started in the pet industry 20 years ago, and I worked as the VP of Sales for some great nutrition-based companies. I learned about natural whole food ingredients and the health benefits they can provide for our pets. I am motivated every day to create a product that Make Pet Lives Better.
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
I have won 4 awards in the past 14 months for new product innovation and products of the year. These were awarded by different pet industry publications.
What's one of the hardest things that comes with being a business owner?
Time management because there are so many facets to running a manufacturing company. Plus, delegating tasks to employees we can trust.
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
- Know the industry, the competition, the segment or category you are passionate about in the incredible amount of knowledge and create points of difference vs. the competition.
- Know the customers or find someone who has relationships with targeted customers.
- Grow as fast as you can.
