Interested in starting your own entrepreneurial journey in business services but unsure what to expect? Then read up on our interview with Seva Latin, Owner of ItsLatin Design, located in Zürich, Switzerland.

What's your business, and who are your customers?

My business is focused on helping startups and growing companies in developing strong pitch decks that highlight their ideas and potential for further funding. The range of my services includes pitch deck design, branding, structure, and content development.

Tell us about yourself

It started about 8 years ago when a friend of mine needed a sales deck for his digital marketing agency. At the time, I had recently graduated with a marketing degree and enjoyed graphic design as a hobby. That project marked the beginning of my career as a pitch deck designer and consultant. Since then, I’ve had hundreds of clients, but I am still thrilled with each new project because it’s always different by nature and the challenges it brings.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

Overall, I am proud of my diverse portfolio and the impact I have made on the businesses and industries I have worked with.

What's one of the hardest things that comes with being a business owner?

I have come to understand that the challenges of running a business vary from person to person, as everyone has a unique set of skills. Some people may find lead generation to be their biggest challenge, while others may struggle with inspiration, self-promotion, pricing, or certain aspects of communication.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

  1. Develop a clear and compelling value proposition for your product or service that highlights the unique benefits it offers to customers. This will help you communicate what makes your business special and how it can meet the needs and preferences of your target market and set you aside from the competition.
  2. Execute. Because no plan will become a reality without effort. Some days can be slower than others and that’s okay, don’t blame yourself for that. Instead, take the time to evaluate the situation and determine how to proceed effectively while producing your best work possible.
  3. Stay agile and adaptable. The business landscape is constantly changing, and it’s important to be able to adapt and pivot as needed. Keep an eye on industry trends and be willing to adjust your strategy as necessary to stay competitive.
