Interested in starting your own entrepreneurial journey in medicine, but not sure what to expect? Then read up on our interview with Hira Siddiqui, the founder of ON MEN, a virtual hormone clinic for men, based in Canada.

Tell us all about your business...

We make preventative medicine available to all Canadian men at an unbeatable price, all from the comfort of your home.

What's your background and motivation to grow as a business owner?

Let's be real - men in our lives need our help especially when it comes to taking care of their health. 70% of the men in Canada do not see a primary care doctor for preventative medicine or are waiting in queue with a referral to see a specialist while they struggle with severe symptoms of hormonal imbalances, for one year or more. As a wife, daughter and entrepreneur, I personally saw an opportunity to make preventative medicine available to all Canadian men in a virtual environment at a fraction of the price. Symptoms related to low testosterone can be catastrophic while the treatment can be pricy. We have removed the expensive frills, and added accessibility for a treatment that is so critical, yet so difficult to find in Canada. What keeps me going is when I hear our customers tell us that their "lives have transformed ".

As an entrepreneur, what does success ultimately mean to you?

ON MEN is the first fully virtual and fastest growing hormone clinic in Canada.

What's one of the hardest things that come with being an entrepreneur?

Constantly pivoting until you've found the right product market fit and sustaining steady growth while you are bootstrapped.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run or grow a small business today?

1. Build a team of capable people who share the same passion and business ethic.

2. Don't try to solve problems that don't exist - look for the right product market fit and go to market with a MVP.

3. Go social. Everybody offers products. You should offer good information with your product so you can build a trusted brand.

Is there anything else you'd like to share?

Go solve difficult problems and do what others hesitate to do. At least you won't run into useless competition that way ;)
