Interested in starting your own entrepreneurial journey but unsure what to expect? Then read up on our interview with Rami Roberto Saab, co-owner of Lebanon Relief Network.

What's your business, and who are your customers?

Lebanon Relief Network is a community initiative focused on providing trauma and mental health relief to the Lebanese population and the diaspora.

Tell us about yourself

I co-founded Lebanon Relief Network after the massive port explosion in Beirut, Lebanon on the 4th of August. Lebanon had seen more than its fair share of turmoil over the last several decades. After this dreadful explosion which was marked the largest non-nuclear explosion I felt that I had to help my country and make a long lasting impact. Before moving to Toronto, Lebanon was everything I had ever known. Even having a small part in instilling some hope in the Lebanese population and diaspora is enough to motivate me everyday. Having family and friends who are still living there pushes me forward as well.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

Positively impacting the lives of people.

What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?

The discipline and consistency that is required to keep moving forward.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

1. Do something you love to do.

2. Treat your business like a plant, for it to grow you need to constantly water it.

3. Be persistent and don't give up in face of obstacles.
