What's your business, and who are your customers?
Intent Consulting is a management consultancy centered on positive psychology, servant leadership, and J.E.D.I. (justice, equity, diversity, inclusion) principles focusing on executive coaching, training/facilitation, thought leadership, publishing, technology, and consulting. Specific focus on the technology, financial services, startup, and healthcare segments.
Tell us about yourself
My passion for servant leadership, positive psychology, and J.E.D.I. principles led me to want to make a bigger impact across multiple industries. I got started writing business books, and that soon extended into training/facilitation, executive coaching, and consulting opportunities. What motivates me each day is the opportunity to improve employee experience around the world.
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
Building trusting relationships with clients and partners that has led to significant repeat business.
What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?
Doing it all yourself - from business development to finances to product development - it all depends on me.
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
- Focus on starting, not on ideating.
- Write a business plan so you can anticipate capacity, outsourcing needs, and financial requirements.
- Make sure you have enough money in the bank to last at least nine months because work comes before payment.
Is there anything else you'd like to share?
Don't neglect or defer community, environmental, and DEI issues to the future. Build with these in mind from the ground up.
