We guide leaders who are ready to be elevated by clarifying their focus so they can transform their professional lives and realize their true potential. We connect you with what matters most to you to make a more meaningful impact and connect with your inspired purpose.

Tell us about yourself

Before becoming the founder and Chief Inspiration Officer of Inspired Purpose Coaching, I was a finance and strategy executive with experience working with some of the world's leading life sciences companies. Along my journey, I also managed small businesses and ran a financial consulting company.

I eventually came to a point in my career when I realized I was not doing the work I was meant for. I felt like something was missing. I didn't feel complete. Then a moment came that changed everything when I decided that I needed to do something about how leaders were showing up in my industry. I realized that in order to change the room, I had to leave the room.

Ever since that day, I have been motivated by the courageous conversations I have had with people who want to create a meaningful impact in the world. This is what truly lights me up.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

My biggest accomplishment as a business owner is overcoming the trap of trying to do it all. When you start a business, you look outside to what others are doing, which can feel overwhelming. You compare yourself to your competitors and what they are doing and feel compelled to do the same things in order to be relevant. The reality is you need to find your own path to success and commit to the long game so you not only find success but enjoy the journey.

What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?

When I chose to leave the corporate world, it was a huge expression of my commitment to personal freedom. And it was terrifying because I was leaving behind everything I knew. However, one of the most important things I have discovered in this journey is that the only thing more important than finding your freedom is not letting your newfound freedom become your own prison.

Once we emancipate ourselves from the structures and systems we once felt imprisoned by, how do we avoid rebuilding that prison for ourselves? From time to time, I have to step back, look at what I am creating, and ensure that I am still enjoying the ride.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

For anyone starting a business today, I would offer the following words of advice:

  1. Be prepared. Set aside some money to weather challenging periods or invest in compelling growth opportunities.
  2. Be open-minded. Flexibility is critical, so you can pivot when new information comes in; you will learn a lot in the first few years.
  3. Be collaborative. Amateurs compete, and professionals create. Find ways to expand the pie instead of constantly playing to beat out the competition.
