What's your business, and who are your customers?
Innovative Business Coaching inspires and empowers entrepreneurs to transform their business vision into reality through one-on-one coaching, entrepreneurship education to fill the knowledge gaps, and access to resources for a full manifestation of their vision.
Tell us about yourself
I am the COO of Innovative Business Solutions and the Founder of Innovate Academy for Entrepreneurs. I am a certified Business and Entrepreneurship Coach as well as Business Strategist. I have served many years as Executive Director of nonprofit organizations in Northwest Indiana. I also have over 25 years of leadership, training, and facilitation experience in both the nonprofit and corporate arenas, where I helped both youth and adults to achieve their goals.
I typically feel that most people would hear someone's business idea and say, why and I say why not. I wanted those with a dream of launching a business to have a safe and supportive space to develop their vision and articulate their concerns in a spirit of collaboration and without judgment or ridicule. New dreams are fragile. The wrong words can and will cause what would be a great enterprise to fracture… sometimes without remedy or repair. I believe nothing is impossible for those who have the vision to achieve or create something that improves life in the communities we serve.
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
To be known as someone who gives more than required to customers and "WOW" them as often as possible with affordable solutions.
What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?
Founders Syndrome: You cannot do it all effectively. Learning to navigate the knowledge gaps and understand when you need to stop being a "lone ranger" and outsource.
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
- Always be willing to learn.
- Don't think of others in your industry as competitors but as collaborators.
- Give more value without the expectation of extra payment.
