What's your business, and who are your customers?
I own a permanent makeup studio where we specialize in microblading and tattooing brows, eyeliner, and lips. We also offer fine-line tattoos. We have an academy where tattoo techniques are taught and practiced. We offer apprenticeships as well. An ideal customer is someone who struggles with daily makeup application, wants dainty body art, or someone who wants to own their own business and learn the art of permanent cosmetics and tattoos.
Tell us about yourself
I love to work hard. I enjoy the daily grind and am a bit competitive. I strive daily for success, and that makes me happy. I had a co-worker bring me a generic brochure of tattooed eyeliner over 17 years ago and ask if she could tattoo my eyeliner. She was a manicurist and was terrible! Hah, I knew I could do better, so I enrolled in a class, and the rest is history!
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
I have created many jobs, and with that, I have helped several women collect their very first paychecks. Besides showing my three children what hard work can do, I have also been able to scale and create some free time where I don't miss a thing in their lives.
What's one of the hardest things that comes with being a business owner?
Knowing what to do next, I love to push and grind, but never knowing the direction to go in can be a bit unnerving.
