Interested in starting your own entrepreneurial journey in health and wellness but unsure what to expect? Then read up on our interview with Donna Jacobson, owner of InFuZion Massage, located in Calgary, AB, Canada.

What's your business, and who are your customers?

I’m a home-based massage therapist that will incorporate whatever techniques my clients need. From lymphatic drainage to hot stones, warm bamboo for the feet to heated marula oil for an Indian head massage.

Tell us about yourself

I love meeting new clients and being part of their care team.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

The day I graduated from massage school, I took a hot stone and cupping course and started working at a clinic where I was the only person doing cupping. It was fun educating clients about fascia and developing my skills there.

What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?

Learning when to make yourself “unavailable” and taking that time for self-care, not business development.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

Ensure you build your loyal clientele and manage smaller spaces until you expand to bigger leased areas. Do the back end work to be ready to deliver a quality product when you open. Find user-friendly ways for your clients to engage/book online.
