Increase Flexibility & Improve Health - Inferno Hot Pilates

Interested in starting your own entrepreneurial journey in health and fitness but unsure what to expect? Then read up on our interview with Gabriella Walters, Owner of Inferno Hot Pilates, located in Las Vegas, NV, USA.

What's your business, and who are your customers?

I am the owner of Inferno Hot Pilates, headquartered in Las Vegas, Nevada. Our studio is located on West Russell Road, just off the I-215. Our specialty is Hot Pilates classes - a fitness class that is performed in a room heated to 95 degrees with 40 percent humidity. The class is set to a club-like atmosphere with high-energy music and neon lights. It is a workout where you have fun and burn fat both at the same time.

Tell us about yourself

I used to compete in Fitness. During a competition, I did a backflip and blew out my knee. I knew at that moment my Fitness Competition Career was over. As a part of my rehab, I was introduced to Yoga and Pilates, workouts based on control and mindfulness. I fell in love. From that moment on, my life was never the same. I started teaching group fitness classes, and the owner of the hot yoga studio asked if I wanted to teach a Pilates-based class in the heat. And the rest is history.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

Being able to teach the class all over the world. Knowing I have helped so many people get healthy, lose weight, and transform their lives - makes my heart sing!

What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?

Staying organized! We have a global business with our teacher training. We get invited to studios from Australia, Asia, Europe, and America. Our calendar takes us around the world 2x every year. Luckily, my husband works in the business with me and makes sure everything runs efficiently. This way, I can stay creative and artistic while my husband stays operational, organized, and punctual.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

  1. As a small business owner, there is no such thing as "9-5". It's "24-7". Be mentally prepared to work hard, work late, and sacrifice parts of your family and social life to become successful.
  2. Focus on what you are good at, become the expert, and create your own niche.
  3. Find time to learn something new every day in your field. I love reading books, participating in webinars, and attending conferences. Life is about becoming a bigger and better version of yourself. Not only will you appreciate it, but your business will also appreciate it too!
