What's your business, and who are your customers?
At Imagine Music Inc, we teach and mentor lifelong skills through the love of playing music. We bring together inspiring and passionate music teachers with eager students, offering music lessons in Calgary, which are held at our students' homes, teachers' home studios, or online.
This unique approach allows for a more personalized and convenient learning environment. We have teachers for piano, voice, violin, drums, guitar, ukulele, bass, saxophone, and music theory. We also promote learning various music styles, such as classical, pop, contemporary, and jazz.
Imagine Music Inc loves to build relationships through music learning. Many of our clients have continued lessons with us for many years. We have clients that have been taking lessons for over ten years with no signs of stopping. We are a part of their lives.
We have seen so many students from ages four right until adulthood. Many of them grow up, get married and hire us to play music at their weddings. Some even come to work for us. We have adult students that have continued their music for years as they love the benefits of learning to play a musical instrument.
Our clients know that we are knowledgeable, caring, and reliable.
We are also proud to say that we have multiple generations of families taking lessons from us. From kids to their parents and grandparents.
Tell us about yourself
I wanted a music school where qualified music teachers could thrive at teaching music while also working on their music skills. These teachers would encourage the love of playing music and, in turn, produce students that would keep this skill into adulthood. For adult students, I wanted them to keep learning music as it would improve their brain health and longevity.
What motivates me is simple. I love music, teaching, playing the piano, and sharing my passion with others! I enjoy talking to new clients, listening to their musical needs and goals, and helping them find the right teachers that I feel will bring them the results they are looking for. I am thrilled to see and hear the musical end results. I enjoy listening to our students play in our recitals, performances, and musical get-togethers. It is always energizing for everyone!
I am also motivated by my teachers and staff that work with me. They are creative, fun, dedicated, and love to share music with their students, just like me! I like to see them succeed with their students and take pride in their students' accomplishments.
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
We have been in business for over 25 years. This is a major milestone considering we have survived two Alberta economic downturns and the Covid Pandemic. During the pandemic, we managed to retain our clientele, continue operations, expand our programs and gain new clients.
What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?
Learning to adapt, learn and grow in a fast-paced and changing business environment is one of the hardest things I have had to adapt as a business owner.
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
- Keep persevering and moving forward through obstacles or bumps in the road.
- Find the right people who believe in you and your company and will support you in your business.
- Listen to your gut instinct, if it feels like something isn't working, tweak it, fix it or get rid of it.
