Interested in starting your own entrepreneurial journey in health and fitness but unsure what to expect? Then read up on our interview with Nathanael Semajuste, owner of IllumiNate Coachings, located in Ottawa, ON, Canada

What's your business, and who are your customers?

My business is a coaching company designed to get a clear view on discerning emotional resilience and apply it to physically feel better so you can train better. My targeted customers are ones that have been brought up in single-parent homes and that are looking for emotional, mental, and physical understanding all combined in one approach. In which the collective objective is to be the best version of yourself.

Tell us about yourself

Driven to be in the service of others, Nathanael "Heat" Semajuste created "IllumiNate Coachings." A personal trainer/counselor and creator of the IllumiNate program. When I created this program, I was in a place in my life where many of you are currently depressed, aimless, and purposeless. I spent many of those days procrastinating and deflecting what needed to be addressed. As time went by, these issues became too heavy to bear.

It affected my personal relationships, my finances, my mental well-being, and my health through unhealthy weight gain. It was not until I was able to have a reflective look at my destructive patterns and behaviors that this, in turn, forced me to challenge my own beliefs and conventions. And through this journey of self-discovery, I've acquired many tools that will help people achieve their own goals and improve their overall well-being. What motivates me is knowing that I'm working on building a pattern to keep me engaged and focus on my purpose/ vision.

"Motivation" has a thing called a "snap-back effect." Meaning it is not a long-lasting feeling, nor is it a permanent one. If it were the case, everyone on earth would be happy, fit, and healthy. In essence, "how" does one keep that "motivation" going?... and the key is VISUALIZATION. Making my idea an image so real that I can feel like I'm living now is the key. Ever since I've been implying that technique from Neville Goddard and many other great authors, it's been revolutionary.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

My biggest accomplishment is growing and learning as I move along with the business. Reaching more and more people that are understanding that once we deal with self-awareness, personal, self-sabotaging, and low self-esteem thoughts will be a thing of the past but more so, have gain knowledge that empowers them and, with time, develops emotional intelligence. Fortifying any intruding poisonous thoughts. That consequently, if not addressed, manifests causing "dis ease" (diseases).

What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?

The hardest thing is to have more time to give to your clients. I enjoy taking my time to serve. So, providing a good customer service is what I care most about, which makes it quite difficult at times because I can't attend to all of them at once.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

Firstly, I've learned that finding your purpose must be the absolute first thing. What does that mean, though? It would be like you are working on something and not realizing you've been working on it for hours, to a point where you even forgot to eat because you were enjoying yourself so much. That particular incident would be a good example of something you might want to pursue. Secondly, getting a mentor. That will definitely set your purpose on track with a vision. Have a clear and precise mental image of what you want and feel it. A mentor can bring that out when picking the right one that suits your goal.

Is there anything else you'd like to share?

I will be starting a support group for people seeking advice for mental health so they can develop the ideal relation skills for themselves, their partner, their friends, family, and lastly, their relationship with things. All this will start on May 22, 2022. Sign up at Illuminatecoachings.com
