What's your business, and who are your customers?
I am a childbirth educator and birth doula specializing in hypnosis and mindfulness techniques for labor preparation. I teach an online course called Confident Birth, and I also offer a three months Virtual Doula membership called The Baby Wagon!
Tell us about yourself
I have been teaching childbirth education and have been attending births as a doula for the past ten years. Nothing makes me happier than to witness babies and mothers being born in a supportive, caring, and empowering atmosphere.
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
I am so grateful to be doing something I truly love, and that allows me to spend time with my daughter, who was born in 2019.
What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?
Being a solo-entrepreneur and a mother has been a great exercise in flexibility and organization. I learned real fast how to compartmentalize my time in order to be most efficient.
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
- Have a clear vision of what you want.
- Learn to prioritize.
- Give yourself some grace! It may take a while ( just like labor), but you will get there!
