Interested in starting your own entrepreneurial journey in health and wellness but unsure what to expect? Then read up on our interview with Melissa Allerton, founder of Hybrid Healing, located in West Palm Beach, FL, USA.

What's your business, and who are your customers?

Melissa has worked with hundreds of clients from around the world while primarily based in New York City, The Hamptons, and Palm Beach. Her typical clients are successful and busy professionals who thrive in the worlds of business and politics but need a teacher and healer who can bring them down to earth and into deep relaxation to maintain their well-being. All new clients begin with a complimentary virtual one-on-one check-in to assess your goals and talk about the offering. Hybrid Healing sessions must be done in person, typically at your home or office, while virtual yoga and relaxation sessions can be done online.

Tell us about yourself

I devote myself entirely to the practice of all eight limbs of yoga. It has brought me great bliss and sacred knowledge I love to share. Since early in life, I have embraced and practiced Asana (Physical practice of poses), Pranayama (Breathwork), and Meditation.

I hold a 500hr E-RYT registration with Yoga Alliance and certifications from Yoga People in Brooklyn, and a 500hr certification from Pranashama Yoga Institute in Bali. Additionally, I am a certified minister within the Universal Life Church, as spiritual healing is part of my practice.

I've been blessed to maintain an 11-year student/teacher relationship with Sri Ketut Arsana, a master healer in Bali teaching Kundalini Tantra Yoga, energy, and bodywork. Additionally, the following teachers have deeply influenced my practice: Sri Dharma Mittra, Sri Sri Ravi Shankar, Thich Nhat Hanh, Llama Dolma, Pema Chodron, Edwin Bryant, Andrew Tanner, Dashama Konah Gordon, John Seeley, Colleen, and Rodney Yee.

It is my greatest desire to see positive changes in my students' lives through the transformative power of yoga and healing. I split my time teaching between Palm Beach, Manhattan, the Hamptons, and Bali.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

Leveraging my amazing client base and expanding it without eliminating or "losing" anyone by simply opening up to offer in more multifaceted ways to honor all of our at times demanding, always inspiring travel, professional & personal lives!
