What's your business, and who are your customers?
HumanKind, LLC is a bespoke casting agency that strives to bring the underrepresented into the spotlight for print and video advertising campaigns. Our customers are twofold: first are the creative teams, production teams, and businesses that are looking for genuine faces and voices for their projects, and second are those genuine faces and voices that we want to promote and celebrate.
Tell us about yourself
I always knew I wanted to work for myself and be able to create something that impacts others in a positive way. I've been so fortunate along the way in a journey that now has me at the helm of my 3rd business. Evolution is what motivates me. What will I learn today? Will I make an impact today? Will I be able to share my message today? The questions are endless and keep me motivated every day!
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
The biggest accomplishment is seeing images or videos we worked on out there in the universe for everyone to see. Continuing our mission of Every Body Belongs.
What's one of the hardest things that comes with being a business owner?
Trying to do it all! Business operations, digital marketing, social media, payroll/invoicing....the list is so long! I have found that when I stick to what I am good at and bring in others that have expertise in other areas - the business benefits in the long run.
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
- Just Do It!
- Find a support group of other business owners (a chamber or other organization that supports small businesses) and listen/learn from them. I have found this to be key!
- Don't be afraid to make a mistake. We all make them, we are human, after all, but we can take that experience and use it to take ourselves and our business to the next level.
