Tell us all about your business...

I've always had a passion for communication and psychology. In my youth, I spent much time researching and learning the various communication strategies and approaches that yield different outcomes. In parallel, multiple friends of mine we growing their startup companies in Silicon Valley. One of them had approached me and requested my insight regarding an upcoming high-stakes investment pitch. I happily obliged and the pitch was a success. Since that day, my services have been requested across all industries for a multitude of communication-based situations.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

The feeling of fulfillment when I see my clients effectively navigate new territory and challenging situations. Personally, it's the biggest 'win' when my clients achieve success and feel empowered in their respective endeavors.

What's one of the hardest things that comes with being a business owner?

Time management. I've been fortunate in that since the beginning, there has been a constant demand for my services. So, lead generation and marketing have not been a focal point. However, accurately estimating the time involved for projects can be tricky.

If there was one thing you could do repeatedly to help grow your business, what would it be?

Focus on providing as much value as possible to every customer/client you have. Rather than focusing on marketing and customer acquisition. Your existing customers/clients will advocate for your business and champion your cause far more than any marketing or promotional plan.

What are some of the things you put in place to maintain a healthy work/life balance and to keep it all together?

I suspect I may be a unicorn in terms of work/life balance. I love what I do every day! I'm excited every morning to get up and start helping people succeed! I do block off the occasional week for vacation when I'm traveling, but I have never felt like I need to take a break from helping others.

Is there anything else you'd like to share?

My free bi-weekly dispatch, Professionally Speaking, contains an innovative and practical professional communication tip/strategy. It's also the gateway to everything we do.
