Interested in starting your own entrepreneurial journey in fashion but unsure what to expect? Then read up on our interview with Chenelle Loggins, Founder of House of Chenelle, located in Douglasville, GA, USA.

What's your business, and who are your customers?

House of Chenelle is a premier online vintage shop. Our customers are modern women who are confident in who they are and like to express themselves through their style.

Tell us about yourself

Fashion has always been my passion. I started my first retail business at 21 in 2006, and I operated it online and brick-and-mortar for over a decade. I got into reselling after becoming a mom of 3. I had been collecting vintage for many years and decided to turn it into a business in 2019. My biggest motivation is the reviews and continued support I receive from my customers. Nothing drives me more than hearing people say they have had an amazing shopping experience with me.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

In 2022 my pieces were featured in the HBO MAX series Minx, which is about a women's empowerment magazine in the 70s.

What's one of the hardest things that comes with being a business owner?

Achieving a good work-life balance can be challenging, but staying organized and sticking to a schedule helps.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

  1. Start where you are. There is never a right time. If you wait until you feel ready, you will never start. Start where you are, use what you have, and do what you can. Small steps every day are better than no steps at all.
  2. Knowledge is power. Take classes, and read articles and books. Become an expert in your field by soaking up all the information you can.
  3. Be consistent. Consistency plus discipline equals success.
