What's your business, and who are your customers?
I have a holistic health clinic designed to help women look and feel their best by balancing hormones, increasing fertility, and reversing the aging process.
Tell us about yourself
I have always been inspired by what holistic therapies can do for people. Before starting my studies in Acupuncture, Herbalism, and functional medicine, I was a massage therapist for 13 years. The years spent as a massage therapist with a focus on helping women were a great foundation for realizing where the gaps in healthcare are for us and a window into how I could play my part to help.
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
Hearing happy reports from the patients when they turn the corner in their health for the better. Sometimes the win is about finally having the energy to socialize with friends and family again and other times is a positive pregnancy test after they were told they would never conceive. My patient's miracles add a great deal to my everyday experience of feeling great about what I do.
What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?
There is always a learning curve with the latest social media and how to best position yourself so you can be within reach of those seeking you. As soon as I think I have the hang of it, there is something new to learn!
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
Focus on what really makes you happy in your business; remember never to run with an empty cup. Take care of yourself first, and your business will more easily thrive. Lastly, even though you may have a five and 10-year plan for your business, remember to stay in the now. Staying present in your business takes the stress away and makes you more efficient.
