What's your business, and who are your customers?

Honeybee Burger is a totally plant-based burger joint founded in 2019 in Los Angeles. We have a mission to save the planet (and its animals) one plant-based burger at a time!

We currently have locations in Mid-City and Venice, with more on the way.
We offer the best plant-based burgers, fried chicken sandos, brekky burritos, shakes, and fries using the most delicious and exciting plant-based ingredients!

Tell us about yourself

Honeybee Burger was launched in 2019 by a passionate group of food professionals and investors who dream of helping save the planet by reimagining what a plant-based burger brand could be.

With a focus on sustainable products and business practices, Honeybee is always on the hunt for the best new plant-based products, like Impossible Foods, Beyond Meat, Akua kelp patties, Ripple soft serve, and Nowadays nuggets, and more!

Our main goal is to convince people to swap a traditional meal for one made entirely of plant-based ingredients. If we're successful, we can help save water, farmland, and animals while drastically reducing our carbon footprint.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

Navigating the pandemic while trying to establish and grow our brand has been a huge challenge and our greatest accomplishment. In the middle of this, we conducted one of the most successful Regulation CF funding campaigns for a food and beverage company. That was a huge accomplishment, especially given the pandemic.

What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?

Realizing that numbers matter while balancing employees' needs and customer demands.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

  1. Understand your customer.
  2. Get very familiar with funding avenues and accounting.
  3. Know your numbers. Every business is a metrics business.

Is there anything else you'd like to share?

Focus on what you can control. There's always something to worry about, but don't be distracted by things you can't control. Celebrate the victories, however small. And accept setbacks as necessary to success, not as failures. Nothing goes up in a straight line.
