What's your business, and who are your customers?
My business is Honeybear Bake Shop! Honeybear Bake Shop is an online cookie boutique and pop-up shop that specializes in unique cookie flavors that change on a weekly basis. Our customers are known as our "cookie monster" they love the constant change of new flavors and how many of our cookies are unique and unlike they have seen before.
Tell us about yourself
My name is Hannah, and I have been in the pastry field since graduating high school in 2008. Most of my training is in fine dining restaurants. Before I started Honeybear, I was the head pastry chef of The Ritz-Carlton in Charlotte, NC. I was furloughed from my job due to COVID-19 and decided to finally open my own bakery. I decided to go with a cookie business because I thought Charlotte, NC needed that.
I really enjoy taking my training as a pastry chef and making unique cookies from that training.
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
I have won two awards so far in my first year in business.

What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?
Not being hard on myself about the little things.
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
- Have fun with it.
- Expect it not to be easy all the time.
- Keep pushing yourself to do more, customers like new and exciting products!
