What's your business, and who are your customers?
Homeschool Mastery Academy is an online resource for new and established homeschool families.
Tell us about yourself
I am a homeschool mom with over 14 years of hands-on experience. I started leading homeschool groups in our local area, and I loved serving and helping families new to homeschooling.
Home education has been an incredible gift to my family, and I felt led to help as many families as possible embrace the homeschool lifestyle with ease. Creating an online space made sense to reach more people, and we have an amazing community of homeschool families.
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
Helping others is definitely the most rewarding part. But in addition to that, I get to work minimal hours from home while I homeschool my own family. Starting and running a profitable business is also something I am very proud of.
What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?
Managing time and juggling motherhood. There is always so much to do and never enough time.
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
- Don't be afraid to outsource projects to others.
- Manage your time wisely.
- Don't waste time or money on anything that isn't going to move the needle in your business. We waste so much time, in the beginning, doing things like tweaking logos or designing the perfect website when there are more important things to work on, like content and product or service creation.
