What's your business, and who are your customers?
I am a Chartered Herbalist / Healer / Life Coach, specializing in helping others achieve optimal wellness in mind, body, and soul. With my holistic approach, I teach my clients to ease anxiety and pain and learn to relax, as well as suggest nutritional options that will benefit their health journey. Additionally, I offer life coaching to aid my clients in improving their relationships, careers, and day-to-day lives.
Tell us about yourself
I have always loved nature - plants and animals. As a teen reading the Clan of the Cave Bear series, I idolized Ayla and wanted to heal people with plants just like she did! I veered off that path for a while but back in 2008, I got really sick, and with several trips to the hospital emergency centre and back out with no clue what was wrong with me, I was pointed in the direction of a Herbalist who did Live Blood Analysis. She showed me what was wrong in my blood, which herbs I needed to help myself, and which ones wouldn't work for me; after several months, I finally had my health back. I am motivated daily by being able to aid clients in overcoming the same issues I overcame in my physical, mental and spiritual health. I am proud that I can make a difference in their lives.
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
My biggest accomplishment as a business owner is learning to do the behind-the-scenes tasks by myself. I built my own website, I do my own photography and social media, and I am super proud that I have learned to do all this.
What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?
One of the hardest things that come with being a business owner has been the struggle of having to do so much to set my business up and do all the planning of services and products all at the same time! I feel exhausted some days just depending on myself but also proud that I can!
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
The top 3 tips I would give anyone are organization, planning, and consistency! You need to be able to be very organized and efficient as time is something that seems to slip through your fingers. Plan everything out in advance, so if you are having a rough day, you have that fallback to get through it smoothly. Be consistent, and your clients will appreciate that! It shows them how much you care and value your business and them.
