Interested in starting your own entrepreneurial journey in health and wellness but unsure what to expect? Then read up on our interview with Jenn Lane, Owner of Holistic Physical Therapy, located in Wheat Ridge, CO, USA.

What's your business, and who are your customers?

I own Holistic PT, a PT clinic located in Denver, CO. I am a pelvic floor specialist. I help expecting moms, new moms, and women of all ages feel healthy and live pain-free. I also have an online library of digital courses that are designed to make it easy for women to receive and benefit from pelvic floor PT. My teaching platform is on this link.

Tell us about yourself

I have been a physical therapist since 2002. I was drawn to PT as I struggled with my own injuries. Then, when I was pregnant with twins 17 years ago and started struggling with pelvic floor issues, I switched my focus to this specialty. Because helping women feel empowered and in control of their bodies is so fulfilling! Moms don't have to leak urine or have pelvic or back pain and can participate in all the activities they love to do! I love being part of that healing process.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

I have owned Holistic PT for the past 5 years. I am so proud of my clinic! Now, I'm shifting focus to creating online courses for pregnant and postpartum women so they can access pelvic floor PT from wherever they are! I want to bring pelvic floor PT to as many women as possible.

What's one of the hardest things that comes with being a business owner?

Prior to owning Holistic PT, I owned another clinic for 10 years. I have been a small business owner for 15 years, and it definitely comes with its struggles, but mostly, it gives me the freedom to set my schedule so I can spend time with my kids and my husband. When the hard work is done, I can enjoy the outdoors, hiking, skiing, and biking!

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

I think the best tip for someone wanting to start their own business is to love what you do and believe that you are an expert in that field. Conveying your expertise and your confidence to your clients helps you build your reputation and your business. Also, having the support of your loved ones is essential for success!
