What's your business, and who are your customers?
Our goal is to help you achieve optimal health and vitality by addressing the root causes of your health concerns. We optimize your health by incorporating habits, lab work, customized meal planning (subscription model), and a personalized health plan for a balanced lifestyle. When you work with us, you should expect a collaboration with transparency and consistency.
As a holistic nutritionist, I focus on the whole person. I believe that every part of a person- physical, mental, emotional, spiritual, environmental, and chemical- all work hand in hand to positively or negatively impact one's health. Therefore, a holistic nutritionist works to treat the whole person instead of just the diet— my partner, a Registered Pharmacist, helps manage the medication side and is a diabetes educator.
An essential aspect of this treatment is always education. We educate our patients on living healthier and making wiser choices. We also spend time getting to the root cause of health issues instead of treating the symptoms. For instance, We might determine that a person is overweight due to overeating but that overeating is caused by depression or stress. The holistic nutritionist would then focus on depression and overeating or eliminating other factors. Most of our clients are young professionals working high-performance jobs needing life-hacking ways to optimize their health.
Tell us about yourself
I am a registered holistic nutritionist, a fitness advocate, and a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist. With my constant struggle with weight, fatigue, brain fog, and binge-eating disorder, I decided to take a stand and take charge of her health. So I started researching nutrition, and what began as a simple curiosity blossomed into a passion. I am currently working part-time as an In-Store Nutritionist, Team Lead at Village Juicery doing personalized detox cleanses and research and developing recipes for clients on a weight-loss journey who have digestive issues. Our easy recipe personalized subscription model makes it convenient, time-saving, and fits their needs.
What motivates me each day doing what I do is ultimately helping people in a simple way that makes the most significant impact. It gives me a sense of joy knowing I can make someone's life better.
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
My biggest accomplishment as a business owner is investing time and energy in personal development. It helps shape a lot of my mentality and perspective on things. For example, for any tasks that used to take me a long-time to complete, I would now delegate or think of a better way to do something quickly, efficiently, and timely. In addition, I invest a lot in reading and challenging myself out of my comfort zone. I believe knowledge is power.
What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?
One of the biggest challenges of being a business owner is whether spending your time and money or outsourcing it is worth it—learning to build a website from scratch and social media marketing. Unfortunately, it took me a long time to learn and develop traction.
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
