I'm the founder, producer, and host of the Highway to Health Podcast.
Tell us about yourself
I got led to my work after struggling with back pain for most of my 20s. I was an English major and planned on going into writing. I had a detour trying my luck and being a professional musician but was limited due to the pain I was experiencing, which also affected my mental health.
Learning how to heal and maintain wellness has instilled confidence in the healing process that I'm now engaged with daily in my private practice for 25 years and for the past six years on the podcast.
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
My biggest accomplishment as a business owner has been learning that each struggle leads to subsequent success. I've been the founder of a storefront business in Brooklyn, NY, worked with a health tech start-up, moved my practice across the country three times, and started a podcast. There are failures and successes every week in any venture. Failures are much more informative.
What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?
My biggest challenge as a business owner is having big ideas and needing help to fund them out of the gate. So the real challenge is being patient with the process, not forcing things, and learning to allow the roots to be built.
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
