What's your business, and who are your customers?

I run a company called The Skintessa Higher Self Beauty, where I help women between 30-60 restore their radiance without harsh treatments or injections. I do this with my product line, TimeLight Skin Nutrition, education, coaching, and mentoring around energy and self-image.

Tell us about yourself

I'm a former hippy kid turned award-winning skincare expert who had left mainstream beauty behind and am pioneering an energetic beauty technique and modality I started creating when I was 13 years old. I live on the Mendocino Coast in Northern California and have a mission to help women remember that they aren't losing value as they age.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

Being named the top Esthetician in the United States in 2016 by a panel of 14 of the world's most preeminent skincare scientists, formulators, and experts was a highlight of my career.

What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?

The ups and downs of cash flow and the market can have you feeling crazy at times; that's why it's important to be grounded in your value and mission.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

My top 3 tips would be to pick a niche, tune out the distractions, and work every day towards being better than the last.

Is there anything else you'd like to share?

Business is how you show up, shine your gifts to the world, and help serve others to do the same. If you feel called, it's because someone is calling for you!
