What's your business, and who are your customers?
HighBridge Premium Cannabis is exclusively engaged in the creation, production, and sale of premium cannabis THC and hemp delta-9 THC-infused beverages.
We currently offer 12 retail-ready SKUs, including our "faux" beers, botanical seltzers, mock-tails, energy drinks and sliders, aphrodisiac shots, and sleep aids. Our targeted retail audience is recreational cannabis consumers throughout the US, Canada, and Mexico.
Tell us about yourself
My name is James Hunter, and I am the creative force behind HighBridge Premium Cannabis and its THC-infused beverages. I have a bachelor’s degree with a major in business and economics, as well as a postgraduate Juris Doctorate degree. My career in the venture capital world eventually led him to his true calling as an entrepreneur. My entry into the cannabis arena was not so much a "leap" as it was a "crawl." I have spent nearly two years researching the business potential and opportunities of cannabis.
Then, no longer able to resist the allure of the risk-reward opportunity, I formed HighBridge and entered the cannabis arena, where I have truly embraced the business, culture, and community of cannabis. Now that I am an activist and ambassador for cannabis, I readily admit that this has been the most interesting—and by far the most enjoyable—experience of a very storied business life.
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
Regardless of the degree of success or how that is measured, past accomplishments pale in comparison to the prospect of the next project! A true Entrepreneur understands that his or her biggest accomplishment is yet to come!
What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?
Responsibility. Not just to the company and the people, directly and indirectly, involved, but to society as a whole. Social responsibility is the soul of a company. HighBridge is a leader in charitable partnering and product education - which is critical in an enterprise like cannabis.
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
- Preparation: Research, study, prepare and learn. Execution then becomes so much easier!
- Capitalization: You will need twice as much as you think. And that will probably be half as much as you require!
- Perseverance: The road to success is littered with challenges, speed bumps, and outside perils. Control what you can - and do not take the rest personally. Everyone has the same road to travel.
