Interested in starting your own entrepreneurial journey but unsure what to expect? Then read up on our interview with Hernan Chousa, Owner of The Youth Sports Parenting Studio, located in Palermo, Buenos Aires, Argentina.
What's your business, and who are your customers?
I am an author, coach, and public speaker. My customers are parents who have kids involved in sports. I can coach them through one-on-one sessions, online courses, books, or inspiring speeches.
Tell us about yourself
I am a former tennis player and have two kids involved in tennis. My elder one was pretty good and quit at fifteen. Back then, I realized 75% of kids drop off the sports bus between ages 13 and 16 and never return. So, as I experienced sports parenting from both sides of the coin, I am involved in helping parents manage the relationship healthier and enhance the kid's sports experience.
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
Once a mom of a young pro tennis player approached me and said, "I act with my son the way you preach in your books. I have 'My Son the Tennis Player' on my nightstand and read it daily." She made my day.
What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?
The hardest thing is to set priorities because time is your main asset. Work and master one skill, be excellent at it, and delegate the rest.
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
- Grind daily without looking at the results.
- Believe in yourself.
- Be aware of who you spend time with.
